WCTD, through the cooperation of TIA (Tire Industry Association) in the USA, offers its members and their employees Technician Training and Certified Technician Programs unparalleled in the industry. From a safety standpoint, it has been proven that properly trained employees are less likely to experience accidents because they are aware of the risks and potential hazards, therefore reducing liability and improving profits. Properly trained employees make a difference in setting standards for competence and professionalism.
In conjunction with Tire Industry Association (TIA) WCTD offers yearly training for Commercial Tire Service (CTS) and Earth Mover Service (ETS). For the first time anywhere, WCTD is also offering ETS Advanced (Trainer) course. ETS attendees will receive a Certificate from TIA for attendance and completion of the four day course, with a hands-on portion. A test for all courses will be marked by TIA.
The instructor for all of these courses is TIA Director of Tire Service Matt White, renowned worldwide, and regarded as one of the best in the business.

TIA Certified Automotive or Commercial Tire Service Courses are run through out the year by TIA in the USA and periodically in Western Canada by WCTD. Successful Technicians are then “certified” to run hands-on TIA training courses. Instructor certification must be renewed every two years. However it may be renewed on-line.
Members who TIA -rain their employees are eligible for a Federated Insurance (the Association’s recommended insurer) discount on liability premiums. Members will also likely qualify for lower Worker Compensation premiums.
